What a shootout! The North American boys delivered in one of the most exciting heats of the event with aerials galore!

King Kelly got things underway early, picking off everything in sight and smashing the living daylights out of it.

But Cory wouldn't go down without a fight, seamlessly blending progressive 360s with backhand aerials.

Then it was the phenom's turn – Dane Reynolds turned it on surfing with energy unmatched, punting huge aerial reverses and pulling off mind-boggling turns at blistering speeds.

The whole level of competition was lifted, with Slater grabbing the highest heat total of the event with a 17.17 out of possible 20.
 



Round 1 is in the water!

The surf is small, but clean, with 3 foot sets rolling in frequently.

The boys are set to destroy it today with all 16 heats of Round 1 on the schedule.
